On Sunday June 12th, the streets were filled with rainbows and homemade signs as the 2016 Pittsburgh Pride Parade made its way through downtown.
The 2016 Pride Festivities began with Pride in the Streets featuring Kesha.

Although it ended in a loss, thousands of fans gathered outside Consol Energy Center to cheer on the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2016 Stanley Cup.

On February 27th, supporters of Senator Bernie Sanders gathered at the Cathedral of Learning in support of his presidential bid. They marched from the Cathedral to Market Square in Pittsburgh where a rally was held with Senate hopeful John Fetterman as a special guest. The march was filled with chants and cheers for Bernie Sanders as supporters made their way downtown.
As I marched with the crowd, I couldn't help but feel that I was witnessing something historic. The emotions of the marchers were palpable, the air felt electric with their energy. For this reason, I chose to depict this event in black and white.
